Taking the Ghar outta Kharghar

Five years ago, whenever we passed Kharghar and saw the Beaming NIFT sign outside the college from the highway I promised papa, "SOMEDAY". And so I did. It's been a journey since 2008. It's been more of a resurrection and building the fort of success and satisfaction on the way. I personally had a whole lot of goals to reach and in these four years I more or less have. I have reached 6000 pictures on Facebook.

I have loved and been loved.
I have learnt and made people regret
I have learnt not to hate
But to shine through it all.
I have nestled my ego
In a blanket of openness.
Openness to learn and accept
Openness to care and get hurt
But I have shone with my Armour
Armour of will
To make my angels proud
Proud of what I have made of myself.

I have shifted 4 houses in four years and I have memories of unpacking and Packing and shifting. Each house has innumerable memories. Of course, both good and bad. And now that I finally pack my bags to leave for a different phase I wonder, will I really miss it?

From birthdays to shoots, to get togethers to girls' night outs to surprises to cook ins to new years.. We have celebrated everything together.

Unconcealed

Open up but shut down,
I try to bare my soul.
I hide myself,
I sink into a black hole.
I let my mind fly endlessly,
Just then reality comes with a leash;
I am Exposed, UNCONCEALED, Free
And that is all you will be able to see.

For our Couture module in the 7th Semester, I came up with theme UNCONCEALED. I wanted to create a Gown which was sultry at the same time sophisticated. I love skin show but just a peek of it and at the right places. I absolutely love this gown which i made in GWEEEEN of course with animal printed chiffon. The back had a long train of Black Tulle cones.

A thigh high slit worked wonderfully with the gown.

After 6 months of frantic searching for that perfect song for my first ever fashion show.. I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! I am counting minutes now. My FINALE of sorts and the grand exit from NIFT, Mumbai is on the 20th of  this month and I have such a whirlpool of emotions in my heart and mind.

Light me up a cigarette and put it in my mouth
You're the only one that wants me around
And I can think of a thousand reasons why
I don't believe in you, I don't believe in you and I

Light me up a cigarette and put it in my mouth

You're the only one that wants me to die
And I can think of a thousand reasons why
I don't believe in you, I don't believe in you

I'm not yours anymore

I'm not yours anymore
No, I'm not yours anymore
I'm not yours anymore

Jump into your white mobile and run away

You're always leaving me behind
And I can think of a thousand reasons why
I don't believe in you, I don't believe in you and I

I'm not yours anymore

I'm not yours anymore
No, I, I'm not yours anymore
I'm not yours anymore

Light me up a cigarette and put it in my mouth

You're the only one that wants me around
And I can think of a thousand reasons why
I don't believe in you, I don't believe in you and I

A late start

For a long time now I have been thinking... do I really have something to write anymore? Have I lost the little girl within who wrote wrote and wrote under the growing tree that her mom planted in their garden? Did she lose her on the way to getting where she is? Did she forget how to hold a pen in her hand? The smell of ink? The unique colour she loved when blue ink and black ink was mixed together? Has the fountain she 1st owned dried away and rusted with time?

Now that I have gone through the four year journey of college which never gave me a second to reflect, I thought why not start. A late start but one for sure.

So, WELCOME...

Gween-ary: (noun) Gween is the pronunciation of the colour green when it is said with excitement, obsession or happiness. (Also used as GWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN)

The colour green is the colour of balance and harmony. From a colour psychology perspective, it is the great balancer of the heart and the emotions, creating equilibrium between the head and the heart. (I really wonder)
From a meaning of colours perspective, green is also the colour of growth, the colour of spring, of renewal and rebirth. The colour green is an emotionally positive colour, giving us the ability to love and nurture ourselves and others unconditionally. A natural peacemaker, green must avoid the tendency to become a martyr. (You said it)
Green loves to observe. It relates to the counsellor, the good listener, the social worker. It loves to contribute to society. It is the charity worker, the good parent and the helpful neighbour.
Green has a strong sense of right or wrong, inviting good judgment (umm.. I wouldn’t be too sure about that). It sees both sides of the equation, weighs them up, and then usually takes the moral stand in making appropriate decisions.
Green promotes a love of nature, and a love of family, friends, pets and the home. It is the colour of the garden lover, the home lover and the good host. Green is generous and loves to share, but it also looks for recognition (well, hellloooo.. I am a Leo as well). It is friendly and can keep confidences.
Green relates to stability and endurance, giving us persistence and the strength to cope with adversity. Green is the colour of prosperity and abundance, of finance and material wealth (CHA CHING!!!!). It relates to the business world, to real estate and property. Prosperity gives a feeling of safety to green.

On the negative, the colour green can be possessive and materialistic, with a need to own people and things… LET’s just stop right there…
